Establishment

The Navajo Nation Advisory Council on the Handi-Capable was established along with the Trust Funds to advocate for Navajos with disabilities

 

NNACH members are appointed by the Navajo Nation Office of the President/Vice-President and serve an important role.

 

Some of the roles of NNACH members include:

  • Advocate for equal access to employment, education, independent living and other services for Navajos with disabilities
  • Educate Navajo Nation programs, schools and the community regarding the needs of Navajos with disabilities
  • Keeps informed about legislative and funding issues at the Navajo Nation, local, state and national levels and advises the Navajo Nation on matters pertaining to Navajos with disabilities.
